What is Day in the Country?

Day in the Country is the annual and primary fundraiser for Gilroy Foundation. The funds raised from this event support our scholarship programs for local graduates. For the past 29 years, we have hosted a gourmet meal, silent and live auctions. For DITC 2020 we are excited to take it Virtual, with a Livestream event and an accompanying online auction!

What is the date and time?

Our virtual Day in the Country will be streamed live from The Neon Exchange in Gilroy CA on September 26, 2020. The live stream begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 8:00 PM. You can attend, participate, and support Gilroy Foundation by joining us online.

How do I purchase a ticket? / Are there tickets? / What is the cost?

Great questions! The answers are: 1. You don’t. 2. Nope. and 3. It’s free! We thought in order to host a great event, one where everyone can join in and participate in all the fun and excitement – all from the comfort of their own home, we should eliminate any reason not to attend. So… in short, there are no tickets to purchase. This is a free event! We hope you can join us and help spread the word to friends and family!

What is the online auction?

Our online auction is OPEN! This is a great opportunity for you to view and bid on our fabulous auction items right from the comfort of your own home. Bid on vacation homes, local wines, regional sporting events, and more. So start your bidding and bid often! Track your bids and view the status of your items all the way to the bid closes at 10:00 PM on September 26, 2020. More information to follow. What is so great about a virtual event?

Glad you asked! Our event team has researched hundreds of hours of online events – the good, the bad, and the ugly. We have taken what we’ve learned and created, and event that is going to be fun, exciting, and entertaining! Think of a mash-up of the old Jerry Lewis telethons and the old variety shows… we’ll have music, laughs, great people sharing their dreams, goals, and stories, and a great cause to support! Trust us… You do not want to miss our virtual event!

What should I wear?

The best part! We cordially invite you to dress in your best formal attire. We also invite you to dress casual, dress as your favorite Superhero, or dress in pajamas! Here’s the deal…when you join us on September 26, you are hosting your own house party. Whether you make it a party of one or two, or a CDC and County approved party with all social distancing rules in place, you choose to dress it up or dress it down! The main thing is you join us dressed any way you choose!
