Growing Up Gilroy: Your Past, Their Future

In 2016, the Growing Up Gilroy Fund was created with donations from 90 charter donors
establishing the $10,000 fund. This fund would make available annual grants of 5% of the fund
balance for activities that would benefit the young people growing up in Gilroy today.

You know….like paying it forward!

Thank you to those who have donated in the past. Through your generosity, grants have been
given to:

• Gilroy Parks and Recreation Department: 3-day event, “A Party in the Park”
• Gilroy NJB National Basketball: scholarships
• One Step Closer: therapeutic riding scholarships
• Gilroy High School Envision Academy: growing sustainable vegetable gardens
• Rucker Home and School Club: theater arts program
• Positive Alternative Recreation Teambuilding Impact – To support 100 youth in Gilroy, ages 12-20, in 10 youth-led civic action service projects  
• Pivotal Connections – Foster youth scholars have access to workforce training.

When the Gilroy High School Class of 1976 found they had money left from their 2016 Reunion,
they decided to add it to this fund. Maybe other high school classes can follow suit?
