The Competitive Grants Committee would like to acknowledge the following Funds for providing the funding for the Competitive Grant Program: Gilroy Foundation General Grantmaking Fund, Ayer Family Fund, Sam & Judy Bozzo Family Fund, Children’s Artistic Enrichment Fund, Val and Elsie Filice Agricultural Fund, Goldsmith Family Trust Fund, Growing Up Gilroy Fund, Neilson Family Fund, Fenton O’Connell Trust Fund, Sacco Family Fund, Sacco Family Music Fund, Shirley M. Silva Memorial Fund, South Valley Hospital Fund, Theater Angels Art League Fund, Jim Trelut Memorial Fund, GUSD Educational Fund, Fred & Virginia Wood Family Fund, Community Needs Funds: Art, Agriculture, Education, Health, and Technology.
For our Competitive Grant cycle, six independent volunteer readers ranked the 25 grant applicants we received this year, requesting a total of $125.057.87. With limited resources in this category of the Foundation’s charitable giving, it was challenging. Applicants were ranked privately, and the Committee came to a consensus of the worthiest applicants. Some of the Competitive Grant applications were satisfied by Donor-Advised Fund donors, so they are listed in that grouping.
